Filed under: PC, Simulations EA is apparently "evaluating the launch window" for The Sims 3, reports Eurogamer. The game was given a February 20 release date last August, but now European retailers are being told by the publisher to expect a delay. EA stated that it would have more information in the near future, presumably tying into EA CEO John Riccitiello's desire to make the third Sims a "huge success." The publisher sure could use the cash. We've contacted EA to find out if it's "evaluating" the release date for North America as well. We'll update if we hear anything.Update: Uh oh. EA responded: "We are evaluating the launch window. The game looks great and in the near future we'll have more information." Our Magic 8 Ball defines this as "outlook no so good."Gallery: The Sims 3Nib frabbit: Sims 3 release date in question [update] originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 26 Jan 2009 11:30:00 EST. Filed under: Culture, PC, Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360 Image Comics and Newsarama have made the first issue of the Dead Space comic book available to read online. The story in the six-part series takes place prior to the events of the video game on the USG Ishimura. Some finer details of the game might be spoiled by reading the comic, but those who've finished the game will get more backstory without having to read Ishimura crew logs. The comic series was originally released earlier this year and is also available now in a collected hardcover edition. If you want to know more of our thoughts about Dead Space, be sure to check out our "Game of the Year" post about this "strategic dismemberment" thriller.[Via Big Download]Read first issue of Dead Space comic online ... legally originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 02 Jan 2009 11:30:00 EST. Psychonauts encyclopedia wants your brain

Filed under: Culture, PC, Microsoft Xbox, Microsoft Xbox 360, Action Double Fine has (thankfully) not forgotten its beloved platformer, Psychonauts -- and neither has its legion of fans. The developer recently launched a wiki-style "Psycho-pedia" to flesh out the game's 'verse, offering up articles on all of its important people, places, and things. Oh, so many things. What's more, Tim Schafer and crew have opened the tome of knowledge to ... your knowledge. By creating an account at the site, you can update the articles with info that (gasp!) even the developer might have overlooked. Double Fine is also soliciting fan art, fan music, cosplay photos, and "any other art you may have created while under the influence of Psychonauts." We can see this getting fittingly weird.
