Max Payne is a BAFTA award winning third-person shooter video game developed by Remedy Entertainment, produced by 3D Realms and published by Gathering of Developers in July, 2001 for Windows. A later it was published for Xbox and PlayStation 2 by Rockstar Games. The story starts with Max Payne, a New York City cop, returning to his apartment after duty to find that a trio of drug junkies high on a new drug have broken into his house. Max rushes to the aid of his family, but he is too late; his wife and newborn daughter have been killed. Game designer Scott Miller, CEO of 3D Realms, who helped produce the game series does not like the film adaptation. He states that it has lots errors on the fundamental grounds. The greatest issue with the movie is that none can really understand what is driving Max until the flashback scene are shown. However, in the game, the scenes were put in front of the story for a cause. He further considers the movie to be a narrative blunder because the audience needs to relate with the character of Max Payne in order to like him and understand what drives him.

PSP – The Unparalleled Portable Gaming Device

From a graphics viewpoint PSP is the unparalleled portable gaming device.  The display is a 4.3-inch TFT LCD with a 480x272-pixel resolution and 16.77 million colors. If compared, each of the Nintendo DS's two screens has 256x192 pixels with 260,000 colors. The only problem with video playback is that it's currently hard to watch anything but UMD videos on the PSP. Unlike Sony's Minidisk, UMD is not a recordable storage format, so you'll have to store any video or music and images on a Memory Stick Pro Duo card.  We recommend at least a 256MB card for storing video. It also has a basic image viewer where you can drag, rotate and show all your JPEG files.  Good news is that the music files played need not be converted to Sony's proprietary ATRAC format first. One can simply drag MP3 or ATRAC files into the music folder on your Memory Stick Duo card. The device supports M3U play lists, but if you have your play lists in another format, you'll need to find and download a converter. However the PSP is adequate for a wide range of people. Last but not the least the PSP has built-in Wi-Fi capabilities. The PSP lets you save multiple wireless configurations so that you can connect from multiple locations without repeating the setup procedure each time. PSP is still a developing engine and there are plenty of advantages one can derive from it. So stay tuned!

Guy Pearce, the English publisher unveiled at a press event last night in San Francisco that this time Codemaster has the idea of making the sequel of off-road racing with an extreme sports attitude. This time the games presentation will be rock solid. The teaser video reveals a collection of strong game story, half naked women and general madness. Being still a racing game this time they have included stadium rally events. The game play video showed a fictional stadium built around London's Battersea Power Station. The set has a strong industrial look and feel. The general feeling about these stadiums is massive, with crowd sizes going from 40,000 in Grid to 120,000 in Dirt 2. The game engine showed some other enhancements like advanced water physics and puddles to be at least a foot deep. Races are held in less expected spots of London and Los Angeles including Croatia, China, and Malaysia. The game’s multiplayer mode will let you be able to take part in online matches against other drivers in real time. All these will surely excite you enough to remain glued to your play station.
